Back on the road

The screw has been found and the bicycle is fixed. Jeremy and I have recovered from our lethal hangovers and are on our way tomorrow down to the beaches. Back on the bike - which I have decided to call "moon baby" after a magical white horse that used to live in our woods. Bangkok has been fun- but a land of temptations and naughtiness which for our personality types should be dipped in and out of speedily. I have met my first properly interesting person on the trip so far. A guy called Pirin- a wanderer of the world with wonderful tales. I have spent the entire morning slurping on a pineapple fruit shake listening to a man talk about his adventures following the mystic Sufi dancers whilst sleeping in Balinese temples. I love those quirky characters one meets on their travels. I have found the most interesting of them all are always the ones dressed in the most normal clothes, free from any hippy attire and funny hair do's. This guy was sporting a gold chain and stripey top. We are going out with him later to watch some Thai boxing and then to a night shopping market. Our last night of indulgence in Bangkok and then back to pedalling. Looking forward to it actually... back to getting excited about my warm beer at night, back to singing chants to help me get up the hills, back to random thoughts that fill your head when you cycle for 6 hours every day....admiring your husbands back...plannning the future...reflecting on the past.
